East Taieri School pupils brought their favourite fictional characters to life yesterday.

Teacher Sarah O’Neill said this year’s Book Week was packed with activities, including lunchtime book activities, a visit from author Emma Wood, a Wooden Spoon Character and Story Jar Competition as well as the Scholastic Book Fair in ‘‘our much-loved school library — the hub of reading at our school’’.
‘‘We finished the week with a Dress Up as a Book Character Day.
‘‘All pupils and staff dressed up as a wide array of much-loved book characters — a great way to end the school term.’’
