Tickets to iD Dunedin Fashion Week events were in hot demand yesterday.

About half the 3000 tickets for the iD Dunedin Fashion Show on Friday, March 12, and Saturday, March 13, sold yesterday.

Half of the 900 tickets for the iD Dunedin Emerging Designer Awards on March 11 also sold yesterday.

iD Dunedin Fashion Committee chairwoman Susie Staley was pleased with the number of tickets sold.

Debbie Nicholson, of Dunedin, bought tickets to the fashion show for the seventh time.

"It's an amazing event and wonderful for Dunedin."

She joined a queue of eight people at 8.15am, but while waiting decided to phone to book her tickets "in case I missed out".

Also in the queue was James Higham, who was "delegated the responsibility" to buy tickets for his wife, a fashion show regular, and her friend.

While he would not attend, he still believed the show was "fantastic".

"It's become an iconic Dunedin event."
