Smoke from a boiler sparked a fire alert at the University of Otago this morning.
A member of the public raised the alarm after noticing the smoke coming from the Hunter Building on the corner of Frederick and Great King streets.
Three brigades raced to the scene but two were turned back when it was discovered the smoke was from released from a boiler on start-up.
