First 'business hub' meeting

The Mosgiel Business Association is to hold its first ''Mosgiel business hub'' meeting, aimed at attracting interest from non-retail members as well as its more traditional members.

''The point of that is that there is strength in numbers and the only way we are going to lobby anything with council, or anything for Mosgiel, is if we work collaboratively with the community board and press issues for Mosgiel,'' association board member Kristy Compton said.

The Mosgiel business community had ''quite a positive tone'' compared with Dunedin because there was so much growth in the town, she said.

The first hub meeting is next Wednesday (5.45pm-7pm) at Nellies Bar and Grill and will start with informal nibbles and networking before a talk by business consultant Carl Spruyt.

It is open to non-members.
