Arden Monaghan (11) and her mother Amy Monaghan, of Mosgiel, went shopping at Spotlight in Dunedin yesterday for fabric to make masks.

Arden’s grandmother Judy Monaghan will make the mask for her to take to the St Mary’s School camp next week, where pupils will be encouraged to wear them.

A pattern and guide for making a face mask, created by the Otago Daily Times and Otago Polytechnic, were in the ODT last Thursday.

Mask making has become popular as health officials advise New Zealanders of their benefits in tackling Covid-19.
