The HQ 44 South Military Collectors Club will roll out the heavy armour for its military show at the Taieri A&P Showgrounds at Labour Weekend.
Anti-aircraft guns, armoured personnel carrier rides, camouflage face-painting and high-powered searchlights will all be part of the fun.
''There will be two Bofors anti-aircraft guns and more than 30 vehicles on display, including a Chevrolet six-wheeler `Jimmy' truck, a Ferret staff car which was used in the 1991 Gulf War and a Dodge command car,'' HQ 44 South Military Collectors Club president Ed Davies said.
''There will also be historic re-enactments by war gamers in the main arena of a World War 1 scene in the French town of Le Quesnoy, a World War 2 scene at Crete, when New Zealand soldiers heroically defended an airfield against a German attack, and Vietnam and Gulf War scenes.''
Rides would be offered in a former-British Army 1968 FV432 armoured personnel carrier, Land Rovers and Jeeps.
Mr Davies said the military collectors club had about 52 members, many of whom would be coming to the show.
The club approached the Mosgiel RSA earlier this year, after it sought ideas from people on fund raising for the extension to its Church St building.
Mr Davies said the link between the two organisations seemed obvious and the RSA was keen, so the military collectors club's usual Labour Weekend event at Waimate was moved to Mosgiel this year.
Members of the club were travelling from as far as Nelson and Invercargill for the event.
He said the Army, Navy, Air Force, St John and Red Cross would also have displays at the show, while Taieri College pupils dressed in army fatigues would carry out a camouflage face-painting operation.
The Mosgiel Fire Brigade would cut the roofs off four old cars in a jaws of life demonstration.
