Dreamcatchers, tarot readings, caricatures and bungy trampolines - there were plenty of things to be found at the Extravaganza Fair.

Including, for one fair worker, love.

Hundreds of people made the most of the weekend's sunny weather to head to the fair, at The Oval in Dunedin.

Awash with colour and music, it drew plenty of punters keen to have their fortune told or face painted.

The fair, which has been running for five seasons, features up to 40 travelling families and stallholders who live in tiny homes and travel around the country.

Manning one of the most popular attractions, the candyfloss stall, was French ex-pat Bibi Rabut.

It was Mr Rabut's second season travelling with the fair, after he met his girlfriend there last year.

"That's a good reason to stay," he said.

"It's a good way to learn English, and a good way to travel New Zealand."

Fair co-ordinator Hipsy Scott said they had enjoyed a "fabulous weekend".

"It's been a little bit windy, but we're hunkering down and we've had great fun all the same."

The fair traditionally had a good response in Dunedin, and held its annual fondue night in the city, she said.

The fair will conclude in Dunedin today and be to Invercargill next weekend.
