One of Queen’s High School’s longest serving teachers has died.

Former head of English Jenny Webb taught at the Dunedin school for more than 40 years.

She retired in 2016.

In a post of Facebook Queen’s High School said she was a "inspirational teacher, friend and colleague here at Queen’s for over 40 years".

"Jenny had a charismatic laugh, an infectious smile and a song for every occasion.

"Her aroha for every student that passed through her door was so clearly evident and she only wanted the best for each and every one of “her girls”.

"She shared her love of literature and passion for reading with us all.

"We will miss this remarkable lady," the post said.

A memorial service would be held at 2pm on Saturday March 31 at Queen’s High School.
