The finishing touches are applied to a two-storey spray-painted mural of a tuatara in Bath St, Dunedin, by Belgium street artist Roa last night.

Roa started the black and white image on Thursday morning. He used the rough brick wall to add texture to the work, which paid homage to New Zealand's native fauna.

Roa's visit to Dunedin and his Bath St work were supported by many businesses and organisations.

One of those involved, BrandAid creative director Luke Johnston, hoped the creation would lead to other commissioned murals in the city.
