Lime rider still in serious condition

The 26-year-old woman injured after she collided with a truck while riding a Lime e-scooter last week remains in a serious condition in Dunedin Hospital.

She is believed to be from the United States, and since the accident in Cumberland St at 1.45am on Friday, she has undergone surgery but little has changed. A police spokeswoman said inquiries were ongoing.

• Three Lime e-scooters were spotted outside a house in Balclutha  yesterday, prompting a concerned member of the public to ring the police. A spokeswoman said the scooters were tracked by GPS, and were not stolen.

Scooters can travel about 48km on one charge.

Last week, one was videoed being ridden on the Balclutha bridge, and it was later seen parked in the town’s main street.
