Man on multiple charges

A man who allegedly stole an e-bike and two e-scooters from the same Dunedin street has been arrested.

Cole David Findlay, 29, appeared in Dunedin District Court yesterday on multiple charges relating to trespassing, theft, threats and possession of weapons.

Senior Sergeant Anthony Bond said police spotted a man walking in the Octagon yesterday who they had wanted to speak to about a series of thefts committed between March 28 and April 11.

The bike was worth about $5200, and the scooters worth $800 and $4000, respectively.

Findlay was also wanted for allegedly stealing sirloin steaks worth $97 from Gardens New World on April 8.

When police stopped him yesterday, he was found to be carrying a knife and arrested.

He appeared in the Dunedin District Court later in the day and was remanded in custody.

Findlay will reappear in court on May 8. — APL
