Armed police rushed to South Dunedin this afternoon after reports of a man carrying a weapon.
The man was spotted carrying a slug gun in Ravelston St, South Dunedin, about 3.20pm.
Police - including one carrying a rifle - were spotted by the Otago Daily Times soon after, speaking to a man at the corner of Ravelston St and Queens Dr.
The man was allowed to leave soon after and police at the scene declined to comment.
A police spokeswoman confirmed no arrest was made.
