Police are investigating the death on Friday night of a Dunedin man who had been in a bar fight less than two hours before he died.
Ambulance and police were called to the 46-year-old man's Lonsdale St address at 10.40pm on Friday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man had earlier been seen in a fight in a central city bar.
Police were called to the fight by witnesses but it had dispersed by the time they got there.
There was no CCTV footage of the incident.
A specialist coroner is conducting a post-mortem examination today to determine the cause of death.
Police have not confirmed the cause of his death, and said it was not necessarily linked to the fight.
