Models from 3 agencies

Models from throughout New Zealand are being considered for iD Dunedin Fashion Week in March, after the organising committee opened casting to various agencies.

For the past eight years, Ali McD models have dominated the catwalks of iD shows, which the Dunedin agency sponsored.

This week iD event manager Victoria Muir confirmed three New Zealand modelling agencies would provide models for the iD Dunedin Fashion Show on March 15 and 16, as well as the iD International Emerging Designer Awards on March 14.

Ican Models and Talent, based in Queenstown and Dunedin, as well as Auckland's Clyne Model Management, would join Ali McD Aart Agency in supplying models for the fashion showcase.

Independent models Aaron Power and Ruby Cameron, both of Dunedin, had also been selected.

About 60 models were required for the iD runway.

Ms Muir said it was possible international models could also be included.

Ali McD owner Aliana McDaniel welcomed the change, which she said would help create ''buzz'' for iD.

A model walk-through was planned for March 3 at the Dunedin Railway Station.
