Dunedin Otaru Sister City Society youth co-ordinator Jennifer Chou said members of the group were selected by writing why they wanted to visit Dunedin.

Yesterday, the group also visited Cadbury World and Moana Pool, and would attend a New Zealand slang class, tour the University of Otago, visit Otago Museum and tour a farm, thanks to city councillor Andrew Noone, before leaving on Monday.

"The DCC has been really accommodating," Miss Chou said.

A delegation of Otaru youth visited Dunedin every two years as another way of strengthening ties between the two cities.
