Plants taken from elderly woman's home

Pot plants have been reported missing from a St Kilda house in suspicious circumstances.

Senior Sergeant Trevor Thomson, of Dunedin, said on Tuesday night ''three or four'' plants went missing from the porch of an elderly woman's home in Ascot St.

''They were polyantha and cyclamen. She said they were just starting to flower.''

Snr Sgt Thomson said the woman was understandably upset about the incident, which was classed as a burglary ''because somebody's come through her property, which was closed, up onto the porch and flogged the plants.''

Also reported to police this week was the burglary of a Sony Bravia television, Freeview decoder and remote from a Wakari home, which was on the market.
