A man was seen running from a bus stop, where a school girl had been waiting for a bus, to a nearby silver car which had been seen by the girl several times over the past few weeks.
It often parked on the opposite side of the bus stop and on one occasion the car drove alongside her as she walked to the bus stop, the Southland girl told police.
Another female pupil also reported being followed by a silver car in the area, at around 3.55pm the same day, police said.
The vehicle is believed to be similar to a silver Mitsubishi Diamante.
Police would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a car matching the description in the area of Woodlands-Grove Bush Rd, Mabel Bush, before and after school.
