Council aquatics manager Nicola Jukes said 26 people had been trespassed from its four pools - Moana, Mosgiel, Port Chalmers and St Clair Hot Salt Water - during the five-year period up to the end of last year.
Reasons for trespass ranged from assault, bullying, indecency, and repeated refusal to follow pool rules, to theft.
Most of the people were trespassed from Moana Pool, as it was the most popular pool facility in Dunedin.
When The Star visited Moana Pool earlier this year, a teenage boy was being marched out of the dive/lap pool for ignoring a "closed'' sign on the dive platforms and jumping from 10m high to land in a pool used by a group of aqua joggers exercising below.
"He was trespassed. We don't want people here who are posing a risk to themselves and to others.''
Visitors' behaviour at Moana Pool this year had been "generally good''.
Considering Moana Pool had about 600,000 visitors a year, the percentage of people being trespassed was low, she said.
When a person was trespassed they could not visit any of the four pools for two years.
