Otago halfback Dylan Pledger dives over to score early in the second half to help power his side to a 41-17 win against Bay of Plenty in the NPC semifinal at Forsyth Bar Stadium last night.
There were nearly 11,000 fans at the venue and most of them got to their feet when Cameron Millar swerved into a gap and got the ball to Pledger to score.
Otago produced an utterly dominant performance to reach the NPC final for the first time in 20 years.
They will play the winner of tonight’s second semifinal between Canterbury and Hawke’s Bay in Christchurch, with a home final in the event Hawke’s Bay win that game.
