Private jet in Dunedin a mystery

Mystery surrounds a private jet which was spotted on the tarmac at Dunedin Airport yesterday afternoon.

The jet is owned by Romania-based corporate charter airline Tiriac Air and operates from Henri Coanda International Airport, near Bucharest.

A local pilot, who declined to be named, said the multimillion-dollar Bombardier Global 5000 appeared to have the Olympic Games circles painted on it.

A Dunedin Airport spokeswoman did not respond to calls for information about who was on board or how long they would be in Dunedin.
