Rapid progress is continuing on the west wing roof at the Otago Polytechnic's $20million student accommodation village in North Dunedin.

Main structural work is complete for the five-level west wing, and project staff say the roof is expected to be watertight by the end of the month.

Swift developments are also under way at the village's nearby four-level east wing where work are already well advanced on the second level.

The accommodation village will be finished by February.

The village complex will have 231 beds and is the first student residential complex fully owned by Otago Polytechnic.
