Putting in the hard yards ahead of the Run the Runway fundraiser are Dunedin Airport firefighters Jason Neave and Rina Watt, while Irene Mosley, of the Mosgiel Rotary Club, displays the fastest time from 2021, which was 12min 55sec.
The airport’s runway is 1900m and the run or walk on the runway is just under 4km.
The winning time has been getting ever quicker, coming down from 15min 14sec in 2018.

Run the Runway was grounded by Covid-19 restrictions last year.
The 2023 edition is to be held on February 11 and will raise money for the Otago Youth Adventure Trust.
