A New Zealand Post truck is washed down in the company’s Strathallan St yard on Saturday.

Rigid safety measures are in place after two positive Covid-19 cases were recorded at its Auckland processing centre last week.

NZ Post chief operating officer Mark Stewart said strict safety measures were in place under Alert Levels 3 and 2.

"This will of course continue to be a priority for us."

Contactless delivery had been re-implemented to avoid the need for physical contact between couriers and customers.

Delivery of mail outside Auckland was not affected by the changes.
