Police are speaking to a man after shots were heard being fired at a Corstorphine address this afternoon.

Armed police cordoned off Dovecote Ave about 12.45pm after a resident reported hearing shots fired at a neighbour's address.

Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen said it appeared the firearm involved was an air rifle and police were speaking to a man about the incident.

Police lifted the cordons about 1.15pm after a woman was seen entering the address with three officers - two of whom were armed.

Police also discovered cannabis at the address, Snr Sgt Dinnissen said.

Charges were likely, he said.
