A student visiting Dunedin says she is angry and $530 out of pocket after the shuttle she arranged to take her to the airport never turned up.
Michele Ong, of Auckland, had arranged for Kiwi Shuttles to pick up her and her sister and take them to the airport on Tuesday.
Despite being outside the pick-up address one hour before the arranged collection time of noon, they missed their flight to Christchurch because the shuttle did not turn up.
At 12.15pm, Miss Ong contacted the shuttle company and was told she and her sister had been forgotten.
"It was really, really annoying."
They paid $70 for another taxi to the airport and had to buy two replacement plane tickets, at a cost of $462.
Their original tickets cost $207.
Kiwi Shuttles director Antonio Seiuli said the company transported 275 people on Tuesday and missed three "because they were not where they were supposed to be".
"It happens quite often when students are not ready or have slept in," he said.
The service was door-to-door, and if a passenger was not there or not ready they were given about four minutes before the driver would knock on the door or attempt to make contact by phone.
Mr Seiuli had been running the company for three years and said only two passengers had been missed because of driver fault.
"If it's our mistake then I generally get a taxi to take them to the airport and we foot the bill."
The company would also pay for any losses due to missed flights, he said.
However, Miss Ong was told a taxi could not be arranged for her transfer to the airport.
She has submitted claims to recoup her losses and is waiting for the manager to respond.
