Skateboarder still in intensive care

A teenage skateboarder from Hong Kong, critically injured after colliding with a car, remains in intensive care.

The 16-year-old's family arrived last week after the incident at 9.30pm on August 25, in Wingatui Rd, Mosgiel.

A source confirmed yesterday the boy remains in Dunedin Hospital's intensive care unit.

It is understood the teen had studied at Taieri College for just over four weeks before the incident.

A police spokeswoman said yesterday the investigation into the crash was ongoing and no charges had been laid.

The driver of the vehicle was not thought to have been injured.
