Schools around the country in the Milk for Schools programme took part in The Big Slurp event at 10.30am yesterday.
Fonterra In-schools programme manager Louise Aitken said about 40,000 milk packs were delivered to the 100 Otago schools participating in the scheme each week.
The programme had been running in Otago since May 2013.
