It has rolled around again: the festival of rugby sevens at Peter Johnstone Park, with all shapes and sizes of youngsters giving their all.
The Taieri Sevens Tournament was played under pleasant skies in Mosgiel yesterday. The event was first established in 1962 for junior players from Dunedin and further afield.
There were 75 teams, across 17 fields, competing in grades from year 2 to year 8.
Teams from outside Dunedin, such as Wakatipu and Cromwell, made the trip to Mosgiel.
The winners were: year 2 Green Island Black; year 3 Green Island Siberian Bears; year 4 Alhambra-Union; year 5 Cromwell Bulldogs; year 6 Dunedin Goblin Sharks; year 7 Taieri Blue; year 8 Kaikorai Demons.
Photographer Gerard O’Brien captured the action.
