Many University of Otago students attended an annual teaching expo yesterday, to learn more about job prospects in teaching, after they graduate.
The expo was held in the foyer of the Bill Robertson library, a joint university College of Education and Otago Polytechnic facility, in Union St, Dunedin.
Robyn Bridges, graduate employment liaison officer at the university's Career Development Centre, said the expo had been successful.
Educational organisations and firms staffed 13 stands, and participants included representatives of the college of education, the career centre and the Dunedin Rudolph Steiner School, plus overseas teacher recruitment agencies.
More firms and other organisations had taken part in the event this year, and it had been ''really good''.
Emma Chamberlain (20), a bachelor of teaching student, said she had found the expo helpful and informative, including about possible job options overseas.
