A container truck became stuck on a steep winding Dunedin street yesterday.
A police spokeswoman said the incident occurred at the second corner of Lancefield St, in Maryhill, about 10.30am.
The vehicle was towed away at the owner's expense.
Dunedin City Council transport acting group manager Richard Saunders said staff visited the site to assess damage to the road.
''In some cases the DCC may seek compensation to repair damage to the road. In this instance the damage is confined to a small amount of scraping and we will not be taking any further action.''
