Dunedin is being promised another glimpse of summer heat tomorrow, when 28degC is forecast for the city.
MetService meteorologist Claire Flynn said that was the expected result of a combination of warm air from Australia and northwest winds crossing the Southern Alps, then warming up.
It followed a changeable day yesterday when the temperature rose to close to 23degC late in the morning before plunging to 15degC in the early afternoon as a southerly swept through.
