The station was installed at the highest point of Dunedin's Northern Motorway last week, after complaints last year when the road was closed eight times due to snow.
The New Zealand Transport Agency said the initiative would keep drivers informed about conditions on the motorway.
The webcam view appeared on the MetService site yesterday, and will soon be on the NZTA site.
