A Kaikoura man who ripped off ACC by falsely claiming about $100,000 for a back injury has had his sentencing delayed until next year.
Michael James Gibson, 53, was due to be sentenced in Kaikoura District Court this morning after pleading guilty to six charges of fraud, but was remanded until January 22 pending a probation report, the Marlborough Express reported.
An ACC investigation found Gibson was continuing to work in manual labour while claiming payments between 2003 and 2008 and had video footage of him lifting boulders, cutting hedges, launching his boat and doing building work.
He faces up to three months in jail.
