A female cyclist has died following a crash with a van in Hamilton this morning.
The collision between a courier van and the woman occurred at the intersection of Morrinsville Rd and Matangi Rd about 7am, police said.
Emergency services are still at the scene.
"The matter will be the subject of a serious crash unit investigation, and all we can confirm at this stage is the crash has claimed the life of an adult female cyclist," acting Senior Sergeant Juliet Burgess said.
Motorists were warned to expect significant delays coming into the city from the east as the intersection was closed.
Diversions would be put in place, police said.
