An earthquake shook the Milford Sound last night.
GNS Science said on their website the quake hit the area at 11.46pm and was 4.3 in magnitude.
It was centred 40km north east of Milford Sound and was 12km deep.
The tremor would have been felt in Queenstown, GNS Science said.
