Firebugs struck in Auckland last night, damaging a South Auckland school, four cars and a garage.
Northern fire communications shift manager Scott Osmond said the fire at Papakura's Cosgrove Primary School occurred at 12.40am. Minor damage was limited to one outside wall.
The Fire Service was then alerted to a garage fire in Otahuhu at 1am.
"There were four cars nearby that were also damaged apparently. All of them are fairly severely damaged."
Both fires were deemed suspicious and were being investigated by specialist fire investigators, Mr Osmond said.
They were not believed to have been linked.
