A man who was found in a critical condition with head injuries in Masterton last week has died.
Koria Steven Matiaha, 25, was found unconscious on the lawn of a Stuart Crescent home about 5.30pm last Thursday.
Mr Matiaha was airlifted to Wellington Hospital but died on Sunday night, Masterton police said.
A homicide inquiry had been launched.
Two Masterton women, aged 20 and 21, appeared in Masterton District Court yesterday on common assault charges and were remanded in custody for two weeks.
More charges were likely to be laid, police said.
Police were not seeking any other people or witnesses in relation to the case.
