The death of a man from a suspected food allergy will be the subject of a coroner's inquest beginning in Auckland tomorrow.
Two years ago, Grant Freeman, 38, was attending a work dinner at a cafe.
He collapsed 10 minutes after eating a tomato entree and died two days later.
His family said he had had food allergies since he was five. He had told the cafe beforehand about his allergies and was given a specially prepared meal, but suffered a severe allergic reaction to something he ate.
