A man has been arrested after a woman was killed in Tauranga early this morning.
Police were called to a property in Graham Place, in suburban Bellevue, at 5.20am and found the 59-year-old woman dead.
A 27-year-old woman was also injured and is recovering in Tauranga Hospital. Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Detective Inspector Tim Anderson said police were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
The name of the deceased woman would not be released until next of kin had been notified.
