A man has been killed after being hit by a truck in central Auckland this morning.
Emergency services were called to the Newton Road overbridge about 6.50am.
A St John Ambulance spokesman said the man, whose age was unknown, was dead at the scene.
Police said the left-hand lane on the overbridge is closed and expected to remain so for some time to allow investigators to examine the scene.
Motorists are advised to avoid this area if possible, particularly when exiting the motorway at Newton Road and travelling east from Ponsonby Road.
