The man killed in a crash in Bulls yesterday was Logan Coleman-Prestige, 26, of Palmerston North.
Police said Mr Coleman-Prestige was a passenger in a car that was believed to have veered off Parewanui Road and crashed in to a solid fence yesterday evening.
The 30-year-old man driving the car sustained serious injuries and was taken to Palmerston North Hospital.
Police have not yet formally spoken to the man, but preliminary indications suggest that alcohol and speed may have been factors to the crash.
The crash investigation is ongoing, and the death has now been referred to the Coroner.
