One person is dead and another is seriously injured after a crash involving two cars and a truck in Waikato today.
It appeared a car clipped the truck before colliding with a second car on State Highway 1, 200m north of Race Course Road in Cambridge, Waikato police said.
The dead person was believed to be the driver of the second car, while the truck's driver was unhurt.
SH1 north of Cambridge was closed with diversions in place while crash investigators were at the scene.
The crash took the Waikato District's road toll to 28, compared with 29 for the same period last year.
