Schizophrenia forum pending

A major conference focusing on the future treatment of people with schizophrenia will be held in Invercargill on May 10 and 11.

The two-day conference has been organised by the Indo-Australasian Psychiatry Association.

It has already attracted more than 100 international delegates.

Members of the public will be able to attend an open session on the second day covering recovery rehabilitation and social inclusion.

Among the speakers will be the president of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in the the United Kingdom, Prof Dinesh Bhugra, and president of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, Prof Louise Newman.
