A person has been seriously injured in a serious crash north of Te Aroha this afternoon.
The single-vehicle crash, on SH26 about 3km north of the Waikato township, was reported at 2.20pm.
A rescue helicopter was landing on the highway, which was now closed as the police serious crash unit investigated.
A diversion is in place via Rawhiti Rd.
