A Rotorua teacher who admitted beating his pregnant wife and threatening to kill her because she was having a girl and not a boy, has been remanded in custody after allegedly constantly phoning her.
Shiu Nadan, 52, was denied bail when he appeared before Judge Chris McGuire in Rotorua District Court for breaching his bail conditions by allegedly ringing his wife, who was now living with her sister at Katikati, the Daily Post reported.
He is due to be sentenced on May 6 on the domestic violence charges.
