Two teenagers who died in a head-on smash in Manawatu yesterday have been named.
Holly Ann Eades, 17, from Feilding, and Jackie Maree Miller, from Sanson, died when their car lost control and crossed the centre line, colliding with a Range Rover, police said.
The two were travelling from Sanson towards Feilding when the crash happened about 1.30pm on Stewart Road, close to the intersection with State Highway 3.
Ms Eades was the driver of the Ford Laser and Ms Miller was in the front passenger's seat.
A 54-year-old Palmerston North man, who was driving the Range Rover, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway. There was no suggestion that alcohol was involved, police said.
