Police have confirmed the sudden death of a woman at a popular rock climbing spot in the Coromandel.
Emergency services were called to Castle Rock near Whitianga just before 10.30am.Police say it's unclear what the circumstances are but the death is being treated as unexplained.
Castle Rock is a 525m high mountain which is popular with rock climbers.
