Scottish wife killer Malcolm Webster has been granted leave to appeal his murder conviction.
Webster was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum non-parole period of 30 years for murdering his first wife in a staged car crash in Scotland and attempting to kill his second wife, New Zealander Felicity Drumm, in a similar crash in New Zealand.
He fraudulently pocketed more than £200,000 ($NZ383,000) in insurance policies after his first wife's death, and tried to kill Ms Drumm in a bid to claim more than £750,000 ($NZ1.4 million) in insurance money.
In January, a judge granted Webster the right to appeal against his sentence, but refused a bid to appeal conviction.
However, after reading written statements from Webster's lawyers, three judges earlier this week granted him leave to appeal his conviction, Scotland's STV reported.
