Emergency services are attending a fatal car crash on State Highway 1, north of Manakau in Horowhenua.
A police spokesman said a 21-year-old woman had died at the scene.
It appeared the vehicle had hit a tree, he said.
The vehicle was off the road and traffic was able to pass, but delays were expected.
