Sinking feeling

Boats lie stranded, after a collapse of a section of the Shropshire Union Canal, caused by a sinkhole, near Chemistry, Britain, yesterday.

The sinkhole drained large volumes of water into the surrounding land, local police and emergency services said.

About 12 people were evacuated from nearby boats.

There were no reports of casualties.
